America's Best Free-Gate Amusement Park Awaits

Classic rides, legendary food, and camping under the stars in the Pennsylvania hills since 1926.

About Us

A vibrant swimming pool area at Knoebels Amusement Resort.
A vibrant swimming pool area at Knoebels Amusement Resort.

Pay once to park, then walk right in. No admission gate, no wristband upsells, just Knoebels Amusement Resort doing things its own way since 1926. That model, rare in an industry built on bundled tickets, is exactly why families drive from five states away and then come back every single summer.

The ride collection alone earns the trip. The Phoenix, a wooden coaster that The American Coaster Enthusiasts have repeatedly voted among the best on the planet, thunders through the trees just steps from the carousel. The Haunted Mansion dark ride dates to 1973 and still draws lines. These aren't reproductions, they're originals, and Knoebels maintains them with a craftsmanship that newer parks rarely match.

Camp on-site, swim in the massive spring-fed pool, and eat your way through a midway where the food is made to order and the prices won't make you wince. With a 4.8-star rating across more than 31,000 reviews, the verdict from guests is consistent: this place is the real thing.

What We Offer

The pay-per-ride system means you spend exactly what you want. Thrill-seekers can marathon roller coasters and flat rides all afternoon, while younger kids stick to the Kozmo's Kurves kiddie section without anyone overpaying. Ride tickets are priced individually, and all-day ride passes are available for those who want to go full throttle.

Beyond the rides, Knoebels operates one of the largest free-gate campgrounds attached to any American amusement park, with full hookup sites, cabins, and a camp store stocked for a full week's stay. The Crystal Pool, fed by a natural spring, is open to campers and day guests alike. Dining spans everything from hand-dipped ice cream and fresh-cut fries to full sit-down meals at the Alamo restaurant, with the famous Knoebels pierogies drawing a crowd every single day.

Seasonal events extend the fun well past summer. Autumn's Hallo-Fun and the Fall Foliage Festival fill October weekends, and the park's gift shops carry a range of souvenirs you won't find anywhere else.

"The best experience in my life❤️‍🩹 everytime I go I stayed camping, they have a store with everything you will need while u camping, the pool is amazing, very big, many options to get food (no expensive at all) the rides is not like Hershey park, the maximum wait time to get on the ride is probable like 15m that’s if is like one of the biggest rides and it has a long line, but nothing crazy, many many options to have fun, haunted houses, choreography, food, water rides, I went with my husband and we spend like $100 n tickets the whole day, the pool is like $15 cash but is all worthy. They also have catering areas where u can rent for birthday, party’s, family meeting n stuff like that (Camping) is the best experience ever, is so peaceful, the people is so friendly and nice, the bathroom are everywhere to take baths, do laundry, dishwasher everything, cooking outside is the best, Walmart is like 20m away from the camping area tho, I recommend to be prepared and do not forget anything so u don’t gotta go 20m away to get it I bought the tickets when I got there I’m not sure if is any Type of discount if u buy it online, is free parking too."

"Knoebels Amusement Resort is a wonderful, family owned Amusement Resort in Elysburg PA. There's fun to be had for the whole family. They have lots of classic rides, some of which are the last of their kind. They keep their rides in amazing working order. They have a great selection of roller coasters, and all are a blast to ride. Aside from rides, the park itself is wonderful. It's very clean, and the atmosphere is great. The food here is amazing too, and affordable. You can't miss the potato cakes. They are out of this world. Attractions at the park include mini golf and a beautiful swimming pool. This is a theme park you can't miss."

"Had a fantastic first visit! So many rides for our one year old to ride and enjoy. The carousels are amazing! And the Coasters are top notch! You can clearly see the pride that the employees have for their work. Early each morning they are wiping all the benches, fixing the gravel, etc. no other amusement park takes this level of care and it shows!! We cannot wait to come back next may!"

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an admission fee to enter Knoebels?

No. Knoebels has no gate admission and no parking fee. You pay only for individual ride tickets or an all-day ride pass. This pay-per-ride model has been the park's policy since it opened in 1926.

Can we camp at Knoebels and visit the park the same trip?

Yes. Knoebels operates one of the largest campgrounds connected to any amusement park in the country. Sites range from tent-only to full electric and water hookups, and cabins are also available. The campground has its own store, laundry facilities, and direct access to the park.

How do ride tickets and all-day passes work?

Individual ride tickets can be purchased in books at booths throughout the park. All-day unlimited ride passes are also sold and work well for guests who plan to ride frequently. Prices vary by season, so checking the Knoebels website before your visit for current rates is recommended.

Is the Crystal Pool open to day visitors, or only campers?

The Crystal Pool is open to both day guests and campers. It is a large spring-fed pool with a separate admission fee. It has multiple slides, a diving area, and a kiddie section, and it tends to fill up on hot summer weekends, so arriving early is a good idea.

What is the best time of year to visit Knoebels?

The park is open seasonally from late April through October. Summer weekends are the busiest. Weekdays in June, July, and August offer shorter lines. October is especially popular for the Hallo-Fun event and fall foliage, with the surrounding Pennsylvania hills providing a dramatic backdrop.

Are there rides and attractions for very young children?

Absolutely. Kozmo's Kurves and the broader kiddie section feature more than a dozen rides scaled for toddlers and young children. The carousel, a classic wooden model, is beloved by all ages. Because admission is free, families with mixed ages can split up without anyone feeling like money was wasted.

Where exactly is Knoebels located, and how far is it from major cities?

Knoebels is at 391 Knoebels Blvd in Elysburg, PA 17824, in central Pennsylvania's Susquehanna Valley. It is roughly 50 miles from Wilkes-Barre, about 60 miles from Harrisburg, and approximately 180 miles from Philadelphia or New York City, making it a very doable day trip or weekend getaway.
